Aloe was included as an ingredient in products studied in 2 randomised controlled trials. Both studies showed a statistically significant improvement in vaginal atrophy symptoms like dryness and painful sex. However, one of the studies used aloe in combination with other ingredients so it's impossible to know which was responsible for the results. The other study compared aloe alone against vaginal oestrogen cream and both products showed significant improvements with no significant differences between the groups. These were relatively small studies.
